Hello, I'm Anne Donnelly. I have worked in IT for over twenty years and have learned a few things along the way.
The availability of personal computers and the internet has made it much easier to find out information, to learn and to communicate. For more and more of us, using a computer is now a part of daily life - as simple as switching on the TV.
But it's not that easy for everyone. For the past three years I've been volunteering with the RNIB, helping visually impaired users with their computer problems. I've discovered that it's not so easy when you can't see what's on the screen!
It's also difficult if you've never been shown how to use a computer. That's why I've joined up with Digital Unite to become a tutor to older people in Northumberland. I hope to share my enthusiasm for the useful tool that is the PC.
In this blog I plan to relate some of my experiences. I hope that they may be interesting, amusing and perhaps even informative.
